I care where the lead goes after somebody presses the button.

I came to this from the automation side, not the design side. Most of my work before this was systems: Linux, APIs, workflow engines, self-hosted infrastructure, and a lot of time spent making tools that were never meant to talk to each other talk to each other.

That turns out to matter for contractors more than it does for anyone else. The website is only the first four seconds. What decides whether you win the job is whether the lead reaches a human quickly, whether anyone follows up, and whether the customer gets asked for a review at the right moment.

So I build both halves. The site is designed to get the call, and the plumbing behind it is designed so the call does not sit in an inbox until Thursday.

I work with a small number of contractors at a time, which is why the two builds on this site are finished properly rather than there being twelve half-done ones.
